HARD TO HANDLE
sat 27 jan 2006
,
Sat night saw the locals & a few of there friends well & truly entertained by the 5 members of HARD TO HANDLE who crambed in two excellent spots of classic numbers which appealed to everyones tastes
with some belting & cracking vocals to some great guitar & bass play supported by an ecceptional drummer who even managed to get into the act, taking up the vocals on one of three numbers
This is one hell of a close knit band that should be on top of everyones list to see if they are appearing @ a venue near you
hopefully it wont be too long before the are back @ the keys
Just like to say a big thanks to steve the bass player for saying hi & having a natter in the short time they had of a break & will hope to meet him again quite soon

RESURGENCE
Sat 20th Jan
.
The boys & girls from resurgence livenEd up a (sorry to say) rather below par bunch of peeps last night @ the keys, I must appologise myself for turning up late too ,the band did two hard working spots adding their own unique sound to such classics as rockin in the free world which i thought was as near as damit as you can get to the real macoy & radioheads classic creep, even slotting in a a bit of ramones i wana be sedated which had wifey tapping her feet
all in all good nights performace by the boys & girls
so stick resurgence on your to watch list as i dont think there will be many disapointments on that score
till my next ramblings !

We were treated to a good all round evenings entertainment by the grumpy old men @ the keys on sat night whose repertoire went across the full spectrom of many a rock covers from this established 3 peise gang
even had a visit to greenday land for one number ,by the end of the evening a few of the peeps were tapping there glasses & feet to their great sound & nifty guitar work
The grumpys come over as a band with no airs n graces and just love there music & the live & closeness of the pub atmosphere
all in all a great nights work
This is the second time ive seen the grumps and they're deffo a trio of boys that grow on you as the night goes on
thanks for taking the time to read my ramblings !

PISTON BROKE
SAT 7 JAN
.
Well the new year seems to got off to a cracking start with this sats band PISTON BROKE
from what i can gather i think they might be a cleckheaton based band as they seem to keep refering back to the wild west town
They came over as a well routined tight outfit in the great Lemmys Motorhead style
they played all motorheads best known numbers, and for those not the doctrine of Lemmy they then threw themselves into a lot of classic stuff from lizzy/led zep & even a sprinkling of mountain plus the cult before the had the peeps rocking with the great AC/DC numbers
a great biker boys band , they deffo kept a good cross keys crowd rocking to the end
catch you all laters
